Project Overview

Pennine was commisioned to install 20 geothermal boreholes as part of the construction of the McGuiness Unit at Prestwich hospital. 

The health trust had a strategic objective of ensuring that the new build was as green as possible, making extenisve use of renewable energy sources. 

Due to programme constraints the drilling and installation work was conducted in parallel with other trades.

Result

20 boreholes were installed to an aggregate depth of 1600metres using mud recirculation methods.
