Project Overview

contiguous bored pile wall

Several local authorities in Manchester were embarking on a programme of strengthening retaining walls. Key restraints on these sites are:  rig weight and the physical dimensions of the rig. Pennine’s restricted access fleet plus its workshop‘s resourcefulness means that it has the appropriate plant for this nature of work.

For the contiguous bored pile wall Pennine installed 170 piles with a diameter of 311 mm and at depths of up to 9 metres using a pneumatic rotary percussive drilling method.

For the king post retaining wall installation, Pennine drilled with an excavator mounted TD308 arrangement using a pneumatic rotary percussive drilling method at depths of up to 10 metres including rock sockets of 3 – 5 metres.
