Project Overview

 

Galliford Try were the main contractor on the construction of the new Worcester Library & History Centre. Rock & Alluvium undertook the CFA piling and Pennine Geotechnical Services were instructed to undertake the installation of a number of restricted access piles on several areas of the site.

The building houses:

  • A fully-integrated public and university library
  • Worcestershire Record Office
  • Worcestershire Historic Environment and Archaeology Service
  • Worcestershire Hub Customer Service Centre

 

Result

76 piles were installed using hollow stem sectional flight augurs. Pile lengths were up to 17 metres and diameters of 300mm and 450 mm.
